We are proud to be a part of the Drayton Valley community and want to share our commitment to the great people who make it so great. We have enjoyed fundraising, donating and planning events for many great organizations right here in Drayton Valley. We are Drayton Valley Proud.
We were proud to participate in the Annual Light Up Parade in Drayton Valley. It was a cold evening but spirits were high and everyone had a great time. We live here. We work here and we're Drayton Valley Proud, today and everyday!
We had a blast at the Wildwood Bronc Bustin' Event - June 3rd and 4th. And we were happy to provide - for the use of the event - a 2016 Ford Superduty. We're mighty proud to be involved in events around our local area. We live here. We work here. We're Drayton Valley Proud.
The staff from DV Ford had a great time serving up hamburgers and hotdogs today (May 18/2016) at Evergreen Elementary School. Our goal was to provide a great lunch for 30 staff and 400 students and help raise awareness and collect donations for the DV Food Bank. Special thanks to Matt Taylor and Jim Furber from Secure Energy for providing the BBQ and lending a hand during lunch. Helping our community makes us all Drayton Valley Proud.
Shannon Gallant, teacher from HW Pickup Jr. High School gratefully accepts a cheque for $3800 from Drayton Valley Ford and Ford of Canada. Our May 7th Drive 1 Event was in support of HW Pickup Jr. High School and Free the Children. A portion of the funds raised also went to help victims of the fire in Fort McMurray. Being involved and supporting our community makes us all Drayton Valley Proud.

Drayton Valley Ford, home of Tires4Life and Canadian Country Music Star Gord Bamford teamed up to support CT4DV! Gord delivered a charity performance Friday, September 4th at 4:00 in the Drayton Valley Ford parking lot. Admission was free with a donation to the Drayton Valley Health Services Foundation, with funds going to the purchase of a CT scanner at the Drayton Valley Hospital. $5600 was raised for an exceptional community initiative. Drayton Valley Ford was proud to partner, once again, with Drayton Valley Health Services Foundation. Drayton Ford holding fundraiser to support CT scanner

Put on your driving gloves, pull out your driver`s licence and be prepared to help out with a wonderful and much-needed community project on May 23 as a campaign to raise money for the CT for DV kicks off at Drayton Valley Ford Sales Ltd.
As Colleen Sekura, Fund Development Officer, Drayton Valley Health Services, explains, for each person who comes down to Drayton Ford and test drives a vehicle, Ford will donate $20 to the CT scanner fund, up to a maximum of $6,000. That means 300 residents with a valid driver`s licence are needed to make this goal, and they need to pre-register before the event, which goes from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gary Kolenski, Assistant Manager with Drayton Valley Ford Sales Ltd., added, “This is an opportunity for Ford to showcase its vehicles and contribute to the community at the same time. We will be having a barbecue with refreshments for a nominal fee and we’d like to try to do a treasure hunt for the cost of a Toonie.”
“We welcome everybody to come down. We’ll have a route map out and the salesmen will be doing the test drives with the customers, which should take about 10 to 15 minutes. We’ll have a row of vehicles ready for customers to drive, everything from 150, 250 and 350 pickup trucks to the Flex, Escape and the Crossover,” said Kolenski.
“Our board members will also be here to talk about the campaign. The scanner costs $1.8 million and we’re just at that $1 million mark. We’re going to be breaking down some walls in the health centre very soon, and we have put a down payment on the actual scanner,” said Sekura. “We are certainly appreciative of Ford’s efforts to help us out.”
In the past, Drayton Valley Ford and Ford Canada has held these test drive fundraisers where they donated $6,000 to minor baseball, $2,100.00 to HW Pickup Huskies football team, $5,580.00 to Friends of Entwistle Learning Society and $2,120.00 to minor hockey.

These results would never have been possible without your commitment, your creativity, and lots of hard work. This video showcases the ways in which you brought the campaign to life, and we want to thank you for everything you did.

Finally, when you were asked about your favourite part of participating in We Scare Hunger, the reply was universal: Genuine gratitude for the opportunity to give back, and help those in need.

Ford of Canada Dealers Help Scare Hunger

During the month of October, more than 200 Ford of Canada dealers from coast-to-coast participated in Free the Children’s Annual We Scare Hunger program. We Scare Hunger is an initiative dedicated to collecting non-perishable food items to support local food banks and raising awareness about local hunger.
This year was the first year that Ford of Canada was a co-sponsor of the national program and dealers were excited to get involved. Participating Ford dealers were matched with local elementary and high schools who worked together to raise awareness and food donations for nearby food banks. Numbers are still coming in, but with 79 of the 200 dealers reported, an incredible 126,453 pounds of food and over $35,000 in cash donations have been collected.

STUDENTS READY TO HELP STOCK FOODBANK

Aurora Elementary School students are in the process of scaring up donations for the local food bank with the support of Drayton Valley Ford.
The two are partnering to take part in We Scare Hunger, an initiative of Free the Children aimed to help local food banks while educating students and communities on how they can make a difference in their own neighbourhoods. Between now and the end of the month students will be collecting donations in their classrooms, at the school and getting out in the community to give residents the chance to contribute to the food bank as well.
Murray Fuhrer, with the marketing department for Drayton Valley Ford, said Ford Canada has jumped on board with the Free the Children organization and its many initiatives. With different levels of participation available, the local dealership decided to go big and chose the highest level. They then approached Aurora to see if that school would be interested in partnering with them to support the local food bank through the We Scare Hunger program.
Students in Grade 4-6 will be spending the next month doing a number of things to collect items for the food bank, but also learning about giving back to the community and understanding there are individuals who struggle with basic needs such as food.
“We wanted to work with the kids in the (Grade) 4-6 range because they tend to get really excited...,” said Fuhrer.
Aurora Elementary School principal Murray Carefoot said the project is already underway. Classroom champions have been selected from each of the Grade 4-6 classrooms and those students have already visited the local food bank to see how it operates and what kind of items it collects. That information was then shared with classmates.
Carefoot said the project will be incorporated into the curriculum where possible and help the children learn about helping others in the community and making some important distinctions.
“The main message with the kids is need versus want,” he said.
Each classroom will collect food items and a general donation box will be set up in the front lobby of the school. Students will also be spreading the word in the community as they go around neighbourhoods with an adult to drop donation bags off to neighbours. Those donation bags will then be collected by staff at Drayton Valley Ford. A trophy of accomplishment will circulate throughout the month to the classrooms making the most progress in their donations that week. Students will also be documenting their participation in We Scare Hunger.
“The whole idea is that throughout the month they will be taking photos and videos and putting that together,” said Carefoot.
At the end of the month Drayton Valley Ford and the school will host a wrap-up party and dance for students to mark the completion of the project.
Carefoot said school administration and teachers are hoping for a high level of student engagement in the initiative.
“We are excited to see that,” he said.
Fuhrer said the local dealership is also excited, not only to work with the students to help the food bank, but also to get out in the community.
“We really want the community to know, yes we are a business in town, but we’re also part of the community. We’re your friends and neighbours,” he said.
The business wants to be part of helping Drayton Valley and area grow and prosper, he noted. Part of that is getting involved in giving back and working in partnership with schools and organizations and spreading the message about the importance of being involved and understanding there are actions they can take to make a difference in the lives of friends and neighbours.
“We’re really excited to be working with the school for this very worthwhile cause,” said Fuhrer. “Watching the children learn about contributing to community.”
We Scare Hunger Corporate Food Fight
We also had a tremendously successful Food Fight corporate challenge on Wednesday, October 22nd at the dealership. We invited a number of local business for a BBQ and some healthy competition. Trophy and bragging rights were up for grabs to the business who delivered the most non-perishable food items. Over 1000 non-perishable food items were dropped off for the local food bank. Congratulations to winner: Option Industries for donating 621 food items. What a fantastic conclusion to our We Scare Hunger initiative. Drayton Valley Ford & Aurora Elementary School joined forces to raise over 5000 non-perishable food items for the local food bank. Our wrap-up celebration at the school including a dance, pizza party and visit from Canadian country superstar, Gord Bamford.
